PKR.com Holds Charity Tournament

Celebrity chef and former football star just some of those who played in aid of the One To One Children’s Fund.

Thursday 15th May 2008

Three-dimensional online poker room PKR.com held a charity tournament over the weekend for the benefit of the One To One Children’s Fund attended by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, soccer legend Teddy Sheringham and World Series of Poker Europe runner-up John Tabatabai.

The annual event featured a night of poker and backgammon and was held at London’s Sketch restaurant on Sunday. It helped to raise over $388,000 for the charity, which helps children in the UK, Middle East, Africa, Kosovo, India and Indonesia, thanks to a $708 entry fee that included a champagne reception plus the buy-in to either a PKR.com sponsored poker tournament or the Omar Sharif Backgammon Tournament.

'It was a fantastic night for everyone involved and good to see so many people contributing towards such an important cause,' said Erika Schwartz, Marketing Manager for PKR.com.

The poker event was eventually won by the daughter of famous chef Marco Pierre White, Leticia White, and she walked away with $7,768 after taking out several celebrity players along the way.
