UK-based online gambling group SportingBet has announced the largest payout in its history after one lucky Greek player hit the jackpot playing its Super Seven progressive slot.

Internet player ‘K Vasileiadis' won $1.47 million at the operator’s Paradise Casino and will now be flown to London on May 9 to receive his winnings at SportingBet’s offices.

“This is a huge win and we are delighted for Mr Vasileiadis,” said a spokesperson for SportingBet.

“He is a loyal customer and, despite the loss for SportingBet, we are delighted to show how our customers can be true winners. I am sure that Mr Vasileiadis will enjoy spending the money and we hope that the experience of this win will stay with him for a long time.'

SportingBet stated that the win, the largest ever paid to a Greek player online, showed that online casinos were capable of delivering major rewards to players with recent upgrades to its product groups turning it into an award-winning gaming destination.
