Infamous Card-Counters Help Test Backgammonmasters’ Blackjack Games
Real-life stars of 21 recruited to test BackgammonMasters’ new Blackjack platform
Tuesday 22nd April 2008
BackgammonMasters have struck a deal with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) students who defeated the house in Las Vegas as shown in the new Kevin Spacey film 21.
The site enlisted the precocious gamblers to test the software on their new blackjack platform, which they add to a host of other games including poker and of course backgammon.
BackgammonMasters’ new online blackjack game can accommodate up to five players battling against the house, and even offers a Basic Blackjack Calculator in order to improve players’ odds and help those sharp enough to count cards.
The MIT team have been employed to test the software, including such variables and potential bugs as the random shuffle, number of decks and looking at software design.
21 is based on the book Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich, about the students who put together card-counting teams to take Las Vegas casinos for millions.
BackgammonMasters invite all players to play on their software, though – genius or not.
