Online Poker Sites Take Advantage Of WSOP Euphoria

Monday 26th May 2008

As the excitement builds and the tension begins to mount ahead of the 2008 WSOP we are seeing more and more online sites taking advantage of the increased profile of Poker and launching their own tournaments to compete with WSOP. Poker players all around the world are logging on more often than ever before, dreaming of playing the WSOP one day and looking for their first big win.

Full Tilt is the latest to announce news of a mini-tournament to run parallel to WSOP, hoping to pick up new players who are ‘in the mood’. Only now are we starting to see the real affect which WSOP has on Poker players around the world and the increased activity as we approach the tournament.

Over the last few weeks we have seen a massive increase in the number of 2008 WSOP qualification tournaments with more and more players looking to bag a seat at the main Poker tournament on the sports calendar. While many have been so near but yet so far from a seat at the tournament, there will be plenty of time to show their skills over the next few weeks.

WSOP really does have a massive impact upon the game of Poker, it builds up the hopes of many, it allows people to dream but above all it brings more and more people to the ‘table’.
