The Clock Is Ticking For UK Lottery Winner To Claim Prize
Sunday 1st June 2008
As crazy as it may seem to the vast majority of the UK population, a £500,000 Lotto jackpot is in danger of disappearing for one lucky winner in the Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth area. The winning ticket was acquired on Boxing Day in 2007 but as yet the winner has not stepped forward to collect the £500,000 windfall.
As with all National Lottery wins in the UK the winner has up to 180 days to step forward and claim the winnings but for some reason there has been no sign of this lucky jackpot winner. There are concerns that either someone has acquired a random ticket and not bothered checking it, something has happened to the winner or the expected publicity (even though they can request to stay anonymous) has scared off the winner.
The figure of £500,000 is an amount which can literally change lives overnight and coming at a time of economic uncertainty in the UK it would seem to be ever more valuable. The clock is most definitely ticking and unless the lucky winner steps forward fairly soon the money will be added to the Lottery Goods Causes fund – the lucky numbers as 8, 14, 18, 23, 27 and 44.
