The Mohegan Sun casino in Pennsylvania has been given approval to expand by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Pennsylvania's newest gaming development will see a $208 million (£104 million) investment in order to re-vamp the existing temporary casino, which has been there for 18 months reports the Morning Call.
It is hoped that the casino will add a heightened sense of glamour and glitz after punters have been used to the temporary facilities situated in a renovated bandstand at Pocono Downs racetrack.
The new complex will feature a 68,000 sq ft casino with a high roller section, as well as better leisure facilities, including nine restaurants, and is set to open in July.
Jim Wise, Mohegan Sun's vice president of marketing, commented: "To this point, our claim to fame was that we were the first casino in Pennsylvania. Now, our goal is to be the best casino in Pennsylvania.''
Earlier this year Detroit's Don Barden was awarded a license to build a $450 million casino in Pittsburgh's North Shore.
