Recent figures display a growth in revenue for the Nevada gaming industry of 4.89 per cent in 2007, significantly lower than the previous year's 13.07 per cent.
The total revenue amassed by Nevada casinos last year is thought to have reached nearly $11.8 billion (£5.9 billion), according to the Nevada Gaming Almanac released by Casino City Press.
Casinos saw a growth in income of 5.72 per cent, while the while Pai Gow Tiles was the game which saw the largest increase in revenue, with a rise of 50 per cent.
Elsewhere on the gaming floor, penny slots and baccarat enjoyed 27 per cent and 26.1 per cent revenue growth respectively.
Revenue from drinks was also up by 6.92 per cent, while hotel-rooms remain a steady source of cash flow, increasing by 4.96 per cent.
While growth in Nevada slows, China's gambling capital Macau is enjoying rapid expansion and is predicted by Morgan Stanley to grow by 20 per cent annually over the next two years.
