ICEi Gets A Makeover

London’s ATEI and ICE to make way for re-branded International Gaming Expo in January.

Friday 13th June 2008

The organisers of January’s International Casino Exhibition Interactive (ICEi), Clarion Gamming, has announced that next year’s show will be re-branded as the International Gaming Expo and incorporate the co-located International Casino Exhibition alongside low-stake gaming machines.

The change will see the entire ground floor of London’s Earls Court Exhibition Centre filled with the International Gaming Expo while the co-located Amusement Trades Exhibition International (ATEI) will be hosted in the self-contained upper level of the hall with its own exclusive entry and exit points.

“Massive advancements in technology combined with new legislation have resulted in significant changes to the global gaming industry,” said Karen Cooke, Head of Exhibitions for Clarion.

“In order to represent all aspects of the gaming platform, high-stake, low-stake, land-based and remote, we are pleased to announce that from 2009 the ground floor of Earls Court will be re-branded to form the International Gaming Expo.

“We are confident that this change, which has been taken following detailed research and discussions with our stakeholders, will represent a clear proposition to attract new visitors and strengthen the show’s status as the world’s leading gaming event.”

Clarion stated that the decision to ring-fence ATEI and create a self-contained event was also taken in the wake of widespread stakeholder consultations.

“We have taken on board the desire expressed by our exhibitors to create a dedicated amusements show located on a single level,” said Cooke.

“In line with the requests expressed to us, there will be no internal link between ATEI and the re-branded International Gaming Expo. This will help in the retention and circulation of visitors and the creation of a unique atmosphere within each respective exhibition.”
