Greek lottery operator Intralot has announced a deal that will see it co-operate with a local operator on a programme of modernising the Ho Chi Minh City Lottery in Vietnam.
The Ho Chi Minh City Lottery is the largest in Vietnam with a turnover last year of $140 million and the agreement was signed during the Greek-Vietnamese Business Forum in Athens late last week.
“During the last years, Vietnam has been relishing significant growth rates as tremendous economic and social developments have been taking place in the country,” said Constantinos Antonopoulos, Chief Executive Officer for Intralot.
“Vietnam is currently an open and industrialised country offering interesting business opportunities for foreign investors. I am sure that the collaboration that starts today between Intralot and Ho Chi Minh City Lottery Company will be of great benefit for all the stakeholders. We are determined to offer our state-of-the-art products, dedicated customer service and our world-wide experience in order to contribute to the efforts of the Ho Chi Minh City Lottery Company to modernising and maximising its performance.”
Ho Chi Minh City is the most important economic centre in Vietnam with 300,000 businesses, 15 industrial parks and export processing zones. In 2001, the nation’s first stock exchange opened in the city, helping to drive its gross domestic product up by over twelve percent to an estimated $14.3 billion.
“We are very pleased to inaugurate our cooperation with Intralot for the modernisation of our lottery system,” said Do Quang Vinh, General Director for Ho Chi Minh City Lottery Company.
“Ho Chi Minh City Lottery Company is looking forward to having the first online system by the leading company in its sector.”
