Former Google head the first of three appointments expected this year from Scandinavian provider.

Online gambling provider Betsafe has announced the appointment of Johan Kinnander to its Board of Directors.
Kinnander is the Chief Executive Officer for Glife AB, one of Sweden's leading online social networks, and gained extensive experience in online marketing during his time as Chief Executive Officer for Google in Scandinavia and AD Pepper Media.
“I believe that Betsafe's business will increase extensively over the coming years and I hope I can contribute with my knowledge and network to help them make this trip as smooth as possible,” said Kinnander.
Betsafe is targeted at the Scandinavian market and offers odds and live betting along with poker and casino games in English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish. Kinnander stated that he had followed the development of online gaming and Betsafe during his time with different Internet companies.
“We are very satisfied with the recruitment of a board member with such a long and thorough experience in Internet business,” said Henrik Persson Ekdahl, Chief Executive Officer for Betsafe.
“Johan's background contributes with exactly the right competence that we need to be able to successfully grow on our already strong Nordic market and on our upcoming endeavours.
“We intend to strengthen the board with at least two more significant members during 2008. Johan will be a board member in the Norwegian company Artic Invest AS, the investment company that owns Betsafe.com.”
