Austrian firm signs two-year advertising agreement for next week’s British Grand Prix at Donington Park.

Online gambling provider Bwin.com has announced an agreement to sponsor the British round of the high-profile MotoGP World Championships being held this Sunday at the world-famous Donington Park racing circuit.
The British Grand Prix deal covers both the 2008 and 2009 racing seasons and includes various advertising supports all within visual range of television coverage. Among these will be banners alongside the pit lanes and the starting line wall as well as dominant branding on the podium, at the press conference area and on the television interview backdrops.
The deal is in addition to Bwin.com’s existing television track advertising agreement with the Czech circuit at Brno for the MotoGP event in August along with March’s race in Jerez, Spain, and April’s competition in Estoril, Portugal.
Bwin.com stated that this latest sponsorship agreement reinforces its philosophy of supporting a wide range of sporting activities and further cements its place as one of the main partners of Dorna, the rights-holder of MotoGP. In addition, the Austrian firm said that the deal underlines the importance it places on this globally popular brand of motor sports and would give itself and Dorna a strong sense of continuity throughout the racing season.
Donington is one of the UK’s most popular motor racing venues and attracted over 130,000 fans for last year’s British Grand Prix. The circuit first opened in 1931 and has been continually upgraded, including $9.68 million in investment four years ago that resurfaced the track and redeveloped the pit and paddock areas.
