Ladbrokes To Sponsor 2008 Killarney Irish Poker Event

Thursday 19th June 2008

As the online betting companies continue to turn to the poker and online casino industries for additional income streams it is the turn of Ladbroke to take centre stage. The well known bookmaking outfit has announced plans to sponsor the 2008 Killarney Irish Poker event to be held between the 2nd and 5th of October 2008 at the Irish National Events centre.

The tournament has a guaranteed prize pot of EUR250,000 for the main event as well as an array of other cash games. There will also be a strong Ladbrokes presence at the event with many people looking forward to the famous Ladbrokes hospitality facilities. Set in a beautiful part of Ireland it is set to attract some of the biggest names in poker and put Ladbroke well and truly in the headlines again.

Sponsorship of events is now seen by many gambling and casino companies as the most efficient way to hit their target market. While traditional marketing campaigns can yield impressive new customer numbers, there is nothing like preaching to the converted in the poker community. As funding has become a little scarce of late, sponsorship of events such as the 2008 Killarney Irish Poker tournament is becoming more affordable to many more companies.
