As the US economy continues to struggle there are reports of more casino and card scams on the Las Vegas Strip than ever before. While all casinos on the strip have CCTV in each area of their developments the scammers are proving to be a little tricky to catch in the act of late. While the casinos are not very keen to confirm the number of cases or the money involved, there is speculation that it has been growing of late. The number of gambling fraud related prosecutions by the authorities has also risen sharply over the last few months as more people are tempted to try their luck.
This is all coming at a bad time for the casino industry which has seen a leap in bad debts since the turn of the year with more and more customers being taken to court and prosecuted. While finances are being stretched and many expansion delayed or cancelled, there are signs of more people moving online for their gambling and casino activities.
Even though casino attendance numbers are falling all over the US there are hopes that the industry should survive this difficult period for the economy fairly well intact.
