WalkerPoker Buys Ailing Wingows

Following suspected fraud by former network operator DGN, online casino forced to sell to ensure player funds.

Monday 23rd June 2008

Online poker room WalkerPoker.com has announced that it is taking over the assets of virtual casino Wingows.com, including the site’s database, and will be offering players around-the-clock action along with incentive bonuses and tournaments with large overlays.

In operation since 2006, Wingows.com was operated on the Dobrosoft network but suffered after the network was sold to Panama/Canada-based Digital Gaming Network (DGN). According to WalkerPoker.com, near the end last year Dobrosoft once again took over the operation of the network and uncovered some less than honest activities by DGN. These saw Wingows.com incur significant loses and drove the company to the point where it was forced to take action in order to ensure its future.

“Wingows.com was one of the only few poker rooms that survived the terrible loss and compensated most of its players and affiliates from the company's own money,” read a press release issued by WalkerPoker.com.

According to unofficial sources, Wingows.com lost more than $500,000 in player money not including rake fees during the period when DGN operated the network.

'We have come to a point where the network lacks the liquidity to recover itself and player's money,” read the WalkerPoker.com statement.

“WalkerPoker.com ensured that it would do its best to help in recovering old funds'.

WalkerPoker.com stated that the move would speed its growth and help players at Wingows.com recover any lost money.

'We have decided to contribute 25 percent of the income from Wingows.com players back to the players and affiliates who didn't get their money,” said Steve Walker, Chief Executive Officer for WalkerPoker.com.

“We believe most of the players and affiliates will get their money back in the first couple of months.'
