Ex-EastEnders star Michael Greco's professional card playing career has received a boost after he was handed a sponsorship deal by Littlewoods Poker.
Although he still works as an actor, Greco has devoted an increasing amount of time to poker in recent years.
After enjoying success in televised celebrity tournaments, he moved on to the professional circuit where he has enjoyed a number of impressive finishes most notably when he collected almost £100,000 for winning a Grosvenor UK Poker Tour event in Cardiff last year.
The sponsorship deal will enable Greco to compete alongside Littlewoods Poker's other professional, former Republic of Ireland footballer Tony Cascarino, in season five of the European Poker Tour, which is scheduled to begin in Barcelona in September.
Last week, Greco made the final table of a pot-limit hold'em event at the World Series of Poker. The actor finished in ninth position in the tournament, which was eventually won by Belgium's Davidi Kitai.
