From Walford To World Series – Former Soap Star Makes Final Table
Ex-actor and British poker player Michael Greco shows his merit, cashing in 9th

British-Italian actor Michael Greco, most famous for his role as Beppe DiMarco in the popular soap opera Eastenders, proved he isn’t just a celebrity cashing in on the poker boom by making his first World Series of Poker final table.
In a final table surprisingly absent of well-known professionals considering this has been dubbed the ‘year of the pro’, Greco unfortunately was the first to leave after an ice-cold deck saw his K-K completely dominated by the A-A of Chris Bell. He didn’t improve and Bell went on to finish second after karma dished out a cooler against him when his A-J met the A-Q of victor Davidi Kitai, who received $244k and his first bracelet.
Greco is one of many celebrities who now embrace poker, including former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker and ex-England international soccer player Teddy Sheringham. However, a WSOP final table will certainly give him some extra respect in the poker world.
