Poker Million semi-finals line-up finalised

Wednesday 30th July 2008

The first round of the Ladbrokes Poker Million has come to an end.

Tony G was the final competitor to make it through to the semi-finals in the second runners-up turbo heat, following on from Marty Smyth, Dave Ulliott, Anthony Hardy and Roy Brindley, who progressed to the next round over the weekend, Matchroom Poker reports.

G will be also be joined in the semis by two internet qualifiers, the Boatman brothers Ross and Barny, Ryan Fronda, Liam Flood, Ken Sorensen, Jonus Danilsson and Ciaran O'Leary.

None of the remaining men have won the prestigious competition before, although there are several combatants left who have final table experience.

Smyth has made it through to the last round twice before, while Ulliott, Flood and Barny Boatman have done so once.

It will be the third year in a row that the semis are without a celebrity, following on from 2003 to 2005, when Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Zac Goldsmith and Helen Chamberlain all featured.
