A poll by Duplicate Poker has seen Scott Montgomery emerge as the poker communities’ clear favourite to win the WSOP final table later this year. He polled 29 percent of the vote with the second favourite way back on just 13 percent. So can Scott Montgomery hack the pressure or will he crumble and burn?
The poll saw Scott Montgomery installed as the clear favourite even though he is not number one on the stack pile as we enter the final, yet exciting throes, of WSOP 2008. Dennis Phillips was back in third place in the poll even though he currently holds number one spot with 26 million chips to his name. So what makes a potential champion? Why is Scott Montgomery such a favourite among poker players?
According to Duplicate Poker it is Montgomery’s ability to manage and control a game which many believe will see him come home with the loot. He has the ability, he has the nerve and he has the temperament but will he be able to ride his luck?
Luck is another element which has been the subject of much discussion with 90 percent of poker players adamant that skill was a far greater asset to have than luck – but then again, put the two together and who knows what could happen!
