Poker fans have picked Scott Montgomery as the favourite to emerge victorious out of the November Nine at the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
The Canadian received 29 per cent of the votes - more than twice as many as his nearest competitor - in a poll conducted by DuplicatePoker.com.
Ivan Demidov was the second favourite, with 13 per cent of the 1,106 players surveyed selecting him.
However, the Russian is closely followed by Dennis Phillips, who was tipped to be the last man at the table by 12 per cent of voters.
Moshe Davidovich, chief operating officer of DuplicatePoker.com, claimed that many of the best players "rely purely on technique".
"In this regard, Scott Montgomery stands out. And as our poll indicates, he has gained a high level of respect for his skills among poker circles," he remarked.
The WSOP main event has a total prize pool of over $64 million (£32 million), around half of which will be shared by the nine players at the final table.
