A gambler from northern California has pocketed over $500,000 (£250,000) at the Thunder Valley Casino near Sacramento.
The punter was playing one of Shuffle Master's Fortune Pai Gow Poker Progressive table games when he hit a seven-card straight flush as well as a side bet.
As this is the highest hand in the game, the payout was 8,000 to one, in addition to the entire jackpot.
The system works by allowing gamblers to place a small progressive bet - as well as the standard one - which enables them to potentially win the progressive jackpot as well as their own odds payout.
Mark Yoseloff, chairman and chief executive officer of Shuffle Master, commented: "[The] Fortune Pai Gow Poker proprietary table game has rapidly become a staple product in a growing number of casinos throughout North America."
The Thunder Valley Casino houses 2,600 slots, some of which are unique to the venue, such as the 100 per cent Payback slots.
