Stan James Steps Into Takeover BetterBet Sportsbook

While the Playtech backed white label sportsbook venture BetterBet may only have been around for a very short time it has been revealed that Stan James – a UK bookmaking group – has acquired the sportsbook division. Details are still fairly thin on the ground but the sportsbook operation has gone (and possibly more of the group) and Stan James has informed customers that it will be business as usual with the BetterBet brand name set to continue at least for the time being.
BetterBet is part of the Betting Shop Services Limited (BSSL) group – a group which has cropped up on a number of occasions on this site – which has many fingers in many pies. BSSL has a very impressive management team who are more than capable of building up brand names to sell on and reap the rewards.
More and more UK bookmakers are increasing their online exposure as it becomes more and more obvious that this is the way forward. Even some of the older bookmaking clients are now looking to bag some excellent online bonus offers, something which is taking business away from the high street.
Who will be the next target in this ongoing consolidation phase? Who will be the next bookmaker to invest their funds online?
