In some good news for Italian fans of online poker, Playtech has agreed a deal with Sindacato Nazionale Agenzie Ippiche (SNAI) for the provision of its entire portfolio of market-leading games in tournament form.
The Isle of Man-based online gambling software developer revealed that the licensing agreement was its first for Italy and has seen it design a product to appeal specifically to Italian players and customised to meet all the functional requirements of the market including matching language and currency. It stated that the product at PokerSNAI.it has also been fully integrated with the Italian firm’s online betting system to ensure a seamless gaming experience.
Those curious about the new service may try it out for free via a downloadable 'play for fun' mode, which provides players with the opportunity to improve their strategies and hone their skills in advance of the site’s 'play for real money’ mode launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008.
“As the leading software provider to the online gaming industry working extensively in regulated markets, we are very pleased to establish our foothold in Italy through our partnership with SNAI,” said Mor Weizer, Chief Executive Officer for Playtech.
“We are delighted to have reached this agreement to offer our rich palette of poker games supported by a transparent and efficient management system to Italy's leading land-based operator and we anticipate a rewarding partnership. We look forward to continue establishing our presence in the whole spectrum of regulated markets, providing top-tier games and platforms to our licensees.”
“Having chosen Playtech's portfolio, we are able to offer our customers two poker games, Texas Hold 'Em and Omaha,” said Maurizio Ughi, Chairman for SNAI.
“Our aim is to be the leading player in the Italian market for skill games as we are for horseracing and sportsbetting.”
