Isle of Man-based turnkey provider pays $1.75 million for the assets of interactive television firm.

Isle of Man-based online casino turnkey provider Playtech has announced the acquisition of MixTV for $1.75 million along with an agreement with Win gaming Media Incorporated.
MixTV is a subsidiary of interactive software provider Win Gaming and provides end-to-end technology for the delivery of mass multiplayer live gaming applications over linear broadcast and interactive live television shows on the web and through analogue, digital, terrestrial, cable and satellite networks.
Playtech stated that the purchase of MixTV’s multiplayer functionality would enable it to maintain its position in live gaming as the technology it is buying brings advanced user experience and quality streaming products accessible via a combination of television and Internet media to a mass market. It revealed that the asset acquisition would allow it to expand the range of platforms it offers to licensees and attract new operators.

In addition to the acquisition, Playtech has also signed a license and service agreement with Win Gaming, a service provider for key players in the gaming arena such as Virgin Media Television, a UK entertainment and communications company, and Teletext.
