Telegraph To Host Sportech Games

As the new soccer season starts, newspaper will host titles from The New Football Pools gaming suite.

Thursday 21st August 2008

London-based soccer gaming business Sportech has announced a deal with The Daily Telegraph that will see the newspaper host two games on its website from The New Football Pools gaming suite. The new games, Premier 10 and Footy 15, will be available at Telegraph.co.uk, a site that Sportech revealed attracted over twelve million page views per month last season. In addition to hosting the games on its website, the newspaper’s sports section will also feature a dedicated weekly column written by television pundit and former Scotland international Alan Hansen. No financial details for the agreement were released but the two also signed additional advertising and marketing initiatives for both online and in print that Sportech stated should revive interest in the once nationally popular pastime of doing the football pools. “This distribution deal with The Daily Telegraph is another important development for the relaunch of The New Football Pools,” said Ian Penrose, Chief Executive Officer for Sportech. “We are delighted to be working closely with The Daily Telegraph to offer their readers our new and engaging games. The response to the relaunch has been very positive and we look forward to the start of the Premier League season with confidence.”
