As the US Open gets underway there seem to be a number of players in with a real shout of hitting the jackpot this year. As you might expect Rafael Nadal is the favourite at odds of around 6/4 but Roger Federer seems decent value at 3/1 and Novak Djokovic a good outside bet at 4/1, but what about Andy Murray the Scottish superstar – is this his time?
Andy Murray is the 4th favourite for the US Open and his odds of 11/1 on the likes of Betfair seem to place him well outside the top 3 but does he have a real chance? Has he started to turn the screw a little over the last few weeks?
While it has to be said that Murray was a disaster at the Olympics, where he admitted that he had not prepared as a professional should, maybe we are going to see a reaction in the US. The UK needs a winner of the US Open to put UK tennis back on the map – can Andy Murray fly the flag again?
