Seminoles 'important' to Florida gaming
Thursday 28th August 2008
The Seminole Tribe's importance to Florida's gaming industry has been acknowledged in the lead-up to an industry event in the state.
Joseph Weinert, senior vice president of Spectrum Gaming Group, the company co-producing the fourth Florida Gaming Summit which runs in October, said that the Seminoles "continue to play a major role" in the local gaming sector.
His comments come as the convention prepares to welcome the tribe's chief executive officer of gaming operations James Allen as a keynote speaker.
Mr Allen is scheduled to address hundreds of casino industry figures when the conference takes place between October 6th and 7th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
The official website for the event claims that some 300 gambling experts will be present at the venue.
Mr Weinert also welcomed the fact that senator Steven Geller will be addressing the guests at some stage during the two days.
