Tuesday 30th September 2008
Online poker room FullTiltPoker.com has signed player Hal Lubarsky to its roster of sponsored professionals, which should enable the blind American to appear at more major tournaments in the future.
Lubarsky joins an already glitering line-up of professional players sponsored by FullTiltPoker.com including Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Roland De Wolfe Chris Ferguson, Chip Jett, Patrik Antonius, Mike Matusow, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Harman and Max Pescatori.
“I just want to take a second to tell all the players on FullTiltPoker.com hello,” Lubarsky wrote on FullTiltPoker.com’s online poker forum.
“I am so glad to be here playing with you.
“For those of you who don't know me, I am a blind player who has been playing poker for 30 years. In 2007, during the World Series of Poker, I was featured on ESPN. For many, this was the first time you may have heard of me. But, before I lost my site I was a regular in the card rooms of Las Vegas.
“It's a thrill to be a player in red here on FullTiltPoker.com. Recognition by many of you players, I think, was instrumental in helping me to get here.
“Please feel free to say hi when you see me playing. I have an excellent reader for online play and if he sees your greeting he will alert me and if I can find a second I will be happy to say hello back.”
