UEFA Cup Second Legs Tomorrow

Tottenham, Manchester City, Motherwell, Everton, Aston Villa and Portsmouth all involved in European competition.

Wednesday 1st October 2008

Tomorrow night sees the second games of the opening knockout round in this year’s UEFA Cup soccer competition with six British clubs desperate to make it through to the group stages beginning on October 23. Tottenham Hotspur travel to Poland to take on Wisla Krakow following last week’s 2-1 win for the Londoners with online bookies Bet365.com, Boylesports.com, BetFred.com, Sportingbet.com, BlueSq.com, SkyBet.com, 888Sport.com and WillHill.com offering them at 1/1. In fact, the longest odds available on Spurs winning seem to be from BetDaq.com at 21/17. PaddyPower.com is offering the lowest odds that the Poles take victory at 2/1 while Betfair.com is offering the highest at 27/10. The usual odds for a home win seem to be 9/4, which is being offered by Boylesports.com, BetFred.com and Coral.co.uk. Manchester City are at home to face Omonia Nicosia from Cyprus following the previous 2-1 away victory. City are listed at odds of 1/6 for victory with Bet365.com, BetDirect.com, 888Sport.com, Coral.co.uk and WillHill.com while the Cypriots are 12/1 for an away win with StanJames.com. Everton lost the Merseyside derby at the weekend to bitter rivals Liverpool but have a chance to bounce back in Belgium tomorrow night against Standard Liege. The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw at home in the last round of fixtures and are slim favourites at 6/4 by StanJames.com, Ladbrokes.com, WillHill.com and BetDirect.com. The Belgians will be looking to deliver the knockout punch early and are given at odds of 9/4 by Bet365.com, BlueSq.com and 888Sport.com. Scotland’s Motherwell are 1/1 favourites against France’s AS Nancy Lorraine with Bet365.com, BetFred.com and SkyBet.com while Birmingham’s Aston Villa take on Litex Lovech of Bulgaria at home and are given at odds of 1/6 by Bet365.com and 2/9 by BlueSq.com, SkyBet.com and PaddyPower.com. Rounding off British interest is Portsmouth, who travel to Portugal to take on Guimaraes. Pompey are listed at odds of 6/4 by most sites including BetDirect.com, 888Sport.com and Boylesports.com while the Portuguese are 11/5 for a win with BetFred.com, Sportingbet.com, StanJames.com and SkyBet.com.
