Greek lottery firm is to enter the Central American market for the first time through new joint partnership.

Greek lottery and betting technology firm Intralot is set to enter the Central American gaming market after signing a joint venture agreement with three Guatemala-based partners for the operation of lottery games.
The Athens-based firm has put pen to paper on a contract with International Gaming Limitada, SGLBVI Limited and VLTBVI Limited to operate a lottery in Central America’s most populous nation over ten years in support of Fundacion Del Nino, a group working to protect children in need. As part of the deal, SGLBVI is to operate the online version of the lottery in Guatemala while VLTBVI will run a video lottery.
Intralot is the majority shareholder in the joint operation and will offer the Guatemalan market a range of numerical, instant and video lottery games with possibility of further expansion in the future. The project entails the provision of co-hosting services for the central system, microLot terminals and communication equipment and services alongside all related software and maintenance.
