Latest Odds on England v. Kazakhstan World Cup Qualifier

Heavily favoured home side look set to increase their chances of making the World Cup by beating European minnows this Saturday.

Thursday 9th October 2008

In its quest to qualify for the World Cup in two year’s time, England take on a heavily unfavoured Kazakhstan at Wembley Stadium this Saturday with most bookmakers predicting an easy home win. Numerous online bookmakers including Bet365.com, Totesport.com, VCBet.com and Coral.co.uk have England as the 1/20 favourite while the lowest odds of 1/16 can be found only with SkyBet.com and PaddyPower.com. Sportingbet.com is offering England at 1/28 while BetDirect.com, StanJames.com and 888Sport.com give Fabio Capello’s men at 1/25 to end Saturday night victorious. Kazakhstan is listed as a longshot at 50/1 to win with Sportingbet.com and Bet365.com while Totesport.com and BetFred.com have gone with the considerably shorter yet nonetheless unlikely 25/1. BlueSq.com, Ladbrokes.com, WillHill.com, PaddyPower.com and StanJames.com give the 120th ranked team coached by German Bernd Storck at 33/1. A draw also looks unlikely in North London with BlueSq.com, PaddyPower.com, 888Sport.com and Coral.co.uk offering odds of 10/1. However, Sportingbet.com and Ladbrokes.com have gone with the shorter 7/1 while SkyBet.com and Totesport.com have gone with 13/2. Wayne Rooney is favoured to be the first to score in the game with Totesport.com, Boylesports.com and BlueSq.com giving the Manchester United striker at odds of 10/3. He is followed by Portsmouth duo Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch at 7/2 with Sportingbet.com, BetDirect.com and StanJames.com. The sole Kazak in the top 20 to score anytime is Erzat Kenbayev at odds of 7/1 with Bet365.com while ExtraBet.com is offering the Zhetysu Taldykorgan player at 10/1.
