While he sensationally blew it last year it seems that Lewis Hamilton could be on track to grab the F1 Drivers Championship at the forthcoming Brazilian GP in front of the home fans of rival Felipe Massa. His win at the Chinese GP saw him sail 7 points ahead at the top of the leader board with just one race left. So will his nerve hold this time? Or will he tighten up and blow it again?
At the moment Lewis Hamilton is 1/5 to bring the Championship home to the UK and his arch rival Massa is 4.7/1 so as far as the bookies are concerned the game is nearly over but not quite. While it would be wrong to say that Lewis Hamilton would be the most popular champion of all time there is no doubt that he has come on in leaps and bounds over the last couple of years.
There is a feeling that some of the older drivers do not like his style, they do not like his confidence and many actually claim not to like him, but Hamilton is not bothered. As he said recently, he is not here to win friends, he is here to win the championship.
