While we have covered the smoking ban in Atlantic City in some detail and the affect that it is having on the casino industry, there are some people who claim that they now feel more comfortable visiting casinos now the ban has been implemented. So are you one of the growing number that now play the tables?
Even though the figures from places like Atlantic City would suggest that the ban is having a massive affect on business there is hope that at least some of that short fall will be made up by new customers in favour of the smoking ban. The subject of smoking in casinos has always attracted opinions from both sides of the spectrum but now the non-smokers have their chance to shine!
It will be interesting to see what happens to casino numbers after the economy has stopped falling and starts to recover but some in the industry are not confident. However, when you consider that the number of smokers in the developed world has been falling for some time we might see an interesting uplift in numbers in due course.
