Caesars Palace has reached a construction milestone on its sixth high-rise tower.
A topping-off ceremony for the 23-storey Octavius Tower was held yesterday, with workers raising a beam signed by every employee of the famous Las Vegas Strip casino.
The tower, which is scheduled to open next summer, will contain 94 guest rooms and 71 suites as owner Harrah's Entertainment continues with its $1 billion expansion plan for Caesars.
Gary Selesner, president of the casino, told the Las Vegas Sun that the Octavius Tower represents the venue's ambitions plans for the future, which have not been curbed by the current financial climate.
"Sure there are some difficult economic conditions right now, but this tower is going to be around for 30, 40, 50 years. We're building for the future," he said.
Boasting over 129,000 sq ft of gaming space, Caesars Palace features a 30-table poker room and table games such as roulette, blackjack and craps.
