As we reported yesterday it seems as though Curlin is the horse to beat although the odds have lengthened ever so slightly. However, we have seen an interesting move in the market with Go Between attracting some interest which has pushed the odds down from 11.5/1 to 6.75/1 and likely to come in further. But what about the UK contingent?
Duke of Marmalade and Henrythenavigator have remained fairly steady at 11/1 and 7.4/1 respectively and while no longer seen as the hot shots to take away the Curlin crown they are still well in with a chance. As the two day event started today it will be interesting to see how the surface is received and how the new veterinary procedures work. Many will recall the sad demise of Eight Belles last year but thankfully the sport has reacted and this year should see a much safer, well managed affair.
If you are looking for a horse to back for the big race tomorrow, do not be too keen to jump on the favourites until you see them settle down tomorrow on the day of the race. Keeping a top class thoroughbred fit is not as easy as it may sound and a tweak here and there can make all the difference.
