While taking on your closest rivals in only your second game as manager must have been something of a shock for Harry Redknapp, his Spurs team came back from 3-1 down to grab a last-minute equaliser in a sensational 4-4 draw at the Emirates. However at the pinnacle of the league we saw Liverpool grab a late penalty against Portsmouth to retain their place at the top although favourites Chelsea are breathing down their neck.
Towards the bottom end of the premiership Bolton and Wigan are just above Tottenham with Newcastle fourth bottom after their victory last night. It seems as though the Harry Redknapp affect has already kicked in at Tottenham and just one more win will see them climb out of the bottom three for the first time in weeks.
While traditionally the more lucrative bets have been towards the bottom end of the Premiership table this year looks to be very different with Liverpool finally hitting form, Chelsea are there or thereabouts although Arsenal and Manchester United have been somewhat disappointing in the first few weeks of the season. It would take a brave person to bet against Chelsea on Manchester United but this season looks like being closer than any other in recent times.
