Boxing sensation Joe Calzaghe has announced plans to quit after his next boxing match on the 8th November which will see him clash with arch rival Roy Jones Jr in New York. However even days after the announcement there appear to be plans for rematches against the Bernard Hopkins and Mikkel Kessler both of whom have felt the power of Calzaghe during his 15 year career.
It has taken Joe Calzaghe almost 15 years to reach the pinnacle of his career and finally he is now earning the kind of money which many believe he should have been earning many years ago. Joe's father Enzo has this week suggested that his son may only require a "holiday" from the sport in order to refresh his batteries and return in the not too distant future. The fight in just eight days time sees Joe Calzaghe go in as the clear favourite at the Madison Square Gardens showdown.
Joe Calzaghe has a record which many believe will never be matched in the future having won every single one of his 45 fights in 15 years and every championship fight since 1997. This is a record which literally stands head to head with any other boxer there has ever been in the sport. The only downside was Calzaghe's reluctance to venture into the American arena until recently which has brought him the millions which his illustrious career so deserves
