Lewis Hamilton taunted about his chances of F1 victory
Friday 31st October 2008
Yet again as we arrived at the final Formula One Grand Prix of the year with Lewis Hamilton still in pole position there have been some disgraceful comments and taunts left on a particular Spanish website where the fans have attempted to make life very very difficult for the British star. While Hamilton enters the final race odds on favourite to become the youngest ever Formula One Grand Prix drivers champion there has never been a greater incentive given to any driver.
While Hamilton and is not universally liked in the pit lanes there is no doubt over his driving skills and many seem to forget that this is only his second year in Formula One racing. He has made mistakes, he will make more mistakes but slowly he seems to be learning the lessons of races gone by. Not only will he become the youngest Grand Prix drivers champion (if this is confirmed on Sunday) but he will be the first black racing driver to lift the crown.
Those close to Hamilton believe that he has never been more relaxed than he is head of this weekend and while the pressure will no doubt be cranked up by his competitors head of the race he seems to be in the "zone". However the beauty of Formula One racing is its unpredictability!
