Probability Signs Hasbro License

Mobile telephone gambling specialist to develop and market four cash games based on the Subbuteo, Trivial Pursuit, Connect Four and Battleship titles.

Thursday 15th January 2009

London-based mobile telephone gambling specialist Probability has signed a contract to license four classic children’s games from toy manufacturer Hasbro International Incorporated. Under the terms of the agreement, Probability will develop and market four mobile cash games based on Hasbro’s Subbuteo, Trivial Pursuit, Connect Four and Battleship titles. “Our agreement with Hasbro adds more excitement to our plans for this year,” said Charles Cohen, Chief Executive Officer for Probability. “It helps further our strategy of leveraging strong global brands to deliver distinctive content to our players, particularly with slots games. As with our earlier deal with Paramount, these licences are forecast to yield revenues after an initial period of development and investment in bringing the games to market. We expect the first title to be available before the end of this financial year.” The AIM-quoted firm also revealed its unaudited key performance indicators for the third quarter of its financial year showing a five percent drop in net gaming revenues to $1,907,248 from the previous period’s $2,001,876. However, it saw 67,639 new customer registrations over the final three months of 2008, a rise of 11,342 from the previous period, while its gross win margin was reported at 70 percent, down from 73.69 percent for the second quarter. “Christmas came early for many of our players who took a higher proportion of their winnings in the run-up to December 25 than at other times of the year,” said Cohen. “Since Christmas Eve, however, the results have turned firmly back in our favour. The underlying strength of our business is confirmed by the record level of new customer recruitment during the quarter and volume of play. On December 23, we recorded by far our busiest day yet with up to 15 bets a second at one point in the evening. We remain confident of our prospects in 2009.”
