Ladbrokes poker in $4 million giveaway

Saturday 17th January 2009

As the online poker markets become ever more competitive Ladbrokes poker has stepped in with a massive $4 million giveaway for 2009. Just when competitors thought they could easily secure a significant share of this massive market it appears that more and more promotional and marketing money will need to be poured into the sector to attract new customers. Ladbrokes poker has a reputation for being upfront and fairly aggressive in its marketing style which has proved very successful over the years.

Starting from January (and lasting four months) the company will award prizes to the top 3000 finishers each month in their $1 million Rake Race with a massive first prize of $25,000, places 2 to 5 getting $10,000 each, places 6 to 10 receiving $5000 each and the top 50 finishers guaranteed a minimum of $2000 apiece. Even finishing in 3000th place guarantees a very attractive $100.

While this could be seen as a massive gamble by Ladbrokes poker there is no doubt that the new Rake Race will attract substantial numbers in a very short space of time. Companies such as Ladbrokes poker are very keen to look at the longer-term picture rather than the short-term situation which can often be difficult to forecast and predict.
