UK bingo giant Foxy Bingo is this month set to launch a £10 million TV advertising campaign to promote what many believe to be the largest ever regular giveaway in the bingo industry. The company will be giving away £1 million each month which is by far the company's biggest promotion to date. The service will be backed up by an interactive game show, the Foxy Bingo Show, which will be available on satellite TV for interactive viewers.
The TV campaign will promote the return of "Foxy", the company’s highly visible and highly branded mascot, which has been so prominent in the press, online and on TV. The UK bingo sector has never been more competitive yet it has never been more popular than it is today. Companies are literally throwing free money and free promotions at new players to attract the attention of the masses. The phenomenon which is online bingo has also translated into many overseas markets although the US and the UK continue to be the leaders of the sector.
Even in the midst of the ongoing economic downturn it would appear that the bingo sector is at this point in time effectively recession proof. We have even seen an increase in attendance numbers in off-line bingo halls, which had been suffering until significant a refurbishment and rebranding of the sector.
