Full Tilt Continued To Blaze Ahead In 2008

A succession of winning pros, international sponsorships and global broadcasts make Full Tilt Poker the one to watch in 2009.

Wednesday 28th January 2009

Online poker operator Full Tilt Poker has announced that the last half of 2008 saw it continue to break barriers while dominating the global field with its sponsored team of professional players. Full Tilt Poker is licensed by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and stated that it toook the poker world by storm last year after seeing a large number of tournament wins, formidable and heavily attended international ground tournaments and an increasing number of global broadcast events. Its sponsored players were a force to be reckoned with on the worldwide tournament circuit with John Juanda winning the 2008 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Europe after 19 hours of play. German players Marin Klaser and Jens Vortmann took home their first WSOP bracelets as did Americans Erick Lindgren and David Singer while Mike Matusow won his third and Max Pescatori took home his second. In addition, John Phan won two bracelets at the WSOP before taking home both CardPlayer and Bluff Magazine’s Player Of The Year accolades. Full Tilt Poker’s international ground and broadcast assault continued as it sponsored and televised events being broadcast in Germany, England, Australia, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Italy, South Africa, France and Canada. In addition, its Million Euro Challenge in Germany drew 6,000 visitors in one day while the resulting televised tournament was broadcast on DSF in Germany and additional territories. The Full Tilt Poker Million Dollar Cash Game (MDCG) and the Full Tilt Poker Million Pound Challenge (MPC) in London attracted an all-star cast of pros, pitting some of the best international players in the world against one another and resulting in a win for Phil Ivey and new Full Tilt player Adam Noone. The MDCG and the MPC are currently being broadcast in the UK on Sky Sports and will be followed by additional international broadcast while the Poker After Dark series continues to be an all-star staple on international poker television.
