After a troubled period it would appear that UK bingo giant Bingo.com is now firmly back in the market after receiving news that its gaming licence application has been accepted. Originally the company operated out of the West Indies but due to changing EU regulations there is now a requirement for an EU recognised license. As a consequence the company applied for a licence in Malta and finally they have received the go-ahead!
Bingo.com is not just a bingo site as it offers an array of games which include slots, sweepstakes and one of the largest online communities with over 2 million members. After a tricky two years the company is set for a remarkable recovery with the UK the first port of call. The company was heavily hit by the change in gambling laws in America and revenues have been markedly lower over the last two years.
Online bingo has taken on a new lease of life over the last couple of years and while Bingo.com has the perfect premium domain name to succeed, difficulties in licensing and over dependence on the US market took their toll. It is rumoured that the company has significant marketing and promotional budgets to hit the UK and take on the majors who have so far dominated much of the market.
