This is the UK's major sports and leisure conference with covers today's issues, today's key speakers and is the best networking day for the UK sport, leisure and hospitality.
Business In Sport and Leisure is an umbrella organisation that covers over 100 members and includes most of the major operators of commercial leisure and consultants who specialise in their field.
“Bidding for Better” is this year's key theme. Speakers will include Stewart Miller, Chief Executive of David Lloyd Leisure and Fiona Adshead, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health. Digby Jones, Director General of the CBI will be followed by sessions on sport and regeneration including speakers from Tesco and the Director of Culture and Leisure Services from Glasgow City Council, wife of Scotland's First Minister, Bridget McConnell. In the afternoon the Gambling Bill will be unveiled by Lord Andrew McIntosh from DCMS, followed by a panel session chaired by Neil Goulden, CEO of Gala Leisure. Other speakers include Chris Bell from Ladbrokes, John Appleton, Mitchells and Butlers, David Boden of Rank and Glynn Mellor of Gamestec. The day ends with a session from Mike Power, the Chief Operating Officer of London 2012.
