Canada’s Interprovincial Lottery Corporation is set to launch a new lottery game in September offering players the chance to win up to $45 million every week.
Tickets for the new Lotto Max game will go on sale from September 19 with the first draw to be held six days later and then every subsequent Friday evening.
Players will receive three chances to win per play with tickets starting at $4.55 each. To take home the big money, players must match seven numbers from one to 49 with the minimum jackpot starting at $9.1 million.
Once any single jackpot hits $45 million, Lotto Max will transform into special MaxMillions games with any excess jackpot going towards additional draws for $910,000 each. In addition, if a Lotto Max jackpot is not won, it will rollover to the next draw date, with any amount over $45 million going towards additional MaxMillions draws.
'Lotto Max will give Canadians what they've been asking for, big jackpots plus more million-dollar prizes,' said Jim Lightbody, Vice-President Of Lottery Gaming for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, one of the five regional organisations that cooperatively operate the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation.
'Lotto Max is a one-of-a-kind lottery that is unique to Canada. The Max Millions prizes revolutionise the lottery as Canadians currently know it.'
