Leading American gaming technology and services firm has been selected as exclusive technology provider by operator LottoTech Limited.

Leading American gaming technology and services firm GTECH Corporation has been selected as the exclusive technology provider for LottoTech Limited, which has a ten-year deal to implement and operate the national online and instant-ticket lottery for Mauritius.
LottoTech won the deal for the African island nation following a competitive procurement and will hold the license to operate the national lottery until April of 2019.
“GTECH is pleased to join with LottoTech as its exclusive technology provider for the implementation of the Mauritius national lottery,” said Jaymin Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer for GTECH.
“We will deliver a world-class lottery platform and solutions specifically tailored for the Mauritian market and look forward to assisting our clients with applying industry best practices to build a very successful lottery for the people of Mauritius and Rodrigues that will generate significant funds for the various good causes including education, health, sports and culture.”
Providence-based GTECH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica, one of the world’s largest commercial lottery operators, and revealed that it would provide LottoTech with a turnkey solution based on its Enterprise Series platform. It stated that this would be easily customisable in order to meet the evolving needs of the Mauritian market.
In addition, GTECH is due to install approximately 600 Altura lottery terminals with the retailer network potentially growing to up to 1,000 points-of-sale over time. This system is expected to go live in October with a lotto game launching soon after followed by instant games.
