Euro2004 betting with Sport Xction System
Interactive Systems launches betting with ToteSport.com
Thursday 3rd June 2004
Interactive Systems has announced that its SportXction in-running betting system will be launched on Totesport.com. The Company’s wholly owned subsidiary Global Interactive Gaming (GIG) had recently signed an agreement with Totesport, part of the Tote network.
Totesport said it will kick start a new online marketing campaign utilizing its website, specialist publications and dedicated direct marketing to promote the SportXction System for the Euro 2004 soccer championship which begins June 12th. SportXction is a patented, real-time, software system, which allows a player to make play-by-play wagers on a sporting event while the event is in progress. Wagering may be conducted while viewing a live or televised sporting event, or listening to it on the radio.
As part of its ongoing relationship, GIG will operate the SportXction system for totesport for all of its currently available sports of football, cricket, golf, tennis and rugby offered throughout the year.
‘We are excited to bring the SportXction System to our customers as a strategic enhancement of our online betting proposition. This, with all our betting opportunities on football and other sports, over the coming weeks and months, will enhance the betting experience on totesport.com,’ says Keith McDonnell, head of Interactive Betting at Tote Sport. The tote has an exclusive license to offer pool betting on each of the 59 UK racecourses. Totesport has nearly 450 betting shops across the UK as well as telephone betting.
‘Customers of the tote will be able to bet live, in real-time, throughout major televised sporting events in a way that no other wagering service can match. We believe this relationship represents a substantial revenue opportunity for both of our companies as we expand our product offering and continue to set the standard for the future of interactive sports wagering,’ adds Barry Mindes, Chairman and CEO of ISWI.
