LONDON, JANUARY 29, 2009: Leading betting software provider, LVS, has just completed delivery of its Advanced Gaming Platform to Française des Jeux (FDJ), the French national lottery operator. The system permits FDJ to offer state-of-the-art fixed odds sports betting to both online and retail customers through their website and network of 26,700 retail terminals offering sportsbetting.
The project was completed in just nine months from concept to delivery. It took a team of 40 developers just 26 weeks to design, build, test and deliver the system after LVS won the contract ahead of fierce competition from some of the industry's biggest players.
'We're delighted that we've managed to deliver this project on-time and on-budget,' said LVS founder and CEO Simon Ordish. 'Winning the contract has had a big impact on
the business and has taken us forward to a new stage in our development.
'It has been a challenge to meet the requirements of such a big operator and there has been a lot of learning to do on both sides. It gives us the platform to move forward into other markets.
'We are delighted that FDJ, the 2nd largest lottery in the world, have been willing to work with a relatively small company such as ourselves. It has been a remarkable
achievement in a relatively short space of time.'
Pascal Blyau, head of IT Projects of FDJ added: 'We selected LVS because its product offers all the functionalities we expect from a modern sportsbook and because it is based on standard and state-of-the-art web technologies, compared to the other alternatives that the marketplace proposes. 'We also valued LVS flexibility and the use of agile methodology. It was a challenging project as FDJ has high security requirements based on ISO 27001 and WLA standards and high performance requirements in terms of transaction processing.
'We had to perform a complex and highly distributed integration with our retail system and our Xeres platform managing our customer wallet in real-time and aggregating all of our gaming engines. I am happy that we managed to make it in such a short period of time. Now that we have this engine working at home we are moving forward and building new features with LVS to make our offer even more appealing for the future.'
The contract has been a big boost to LVS who have quietly been building their customer base with their creative approach to Internet betting technology and has now delivered technology to some of the biggest names in the industry including William Hill and BWin.
As well as the Advanced Gaming Platform which provides fixed-odds betting to all FDJ's customers, LVS designed and built their content management system and website.
The system also had to be built in a way that could integrate with FDJ's customer management and retail operations systems.
The strengths of the system include its scalability, ability to offer many different markets with the necessary risk management tools, and that it is robust enough to
cope with high volumes of traffic.
The Advanced Gaming Platform also has inbuilt multi-lingual and multi-cultural features that means it is capable of offering US and Asian-focused betting products.
LVS is also contracted to provide ongoing support to FDJ and the two will continue to work together in the future to provide other software to support their growing fixed odds sports betting offering.
The company is now taking active steps to introduce its systems into emerging markets as they open up.
