Leading online betting software provider LVS has announced the delivery of its Advanced Gaming Platform to French national lottery operator La Francaise Des Jeux (FDJ).
The London and Gibraltar-based firm stated that its system will now permit FDJ to offer state-of-the-art fixed-odds sportsbetting online and through its network of 26,700 retail terminals.
LVS revealed that it won the FDJ contract ahead of ‘fierce competition’ from some of the industry’s ‘biggest players’. It stated that the project was completed in nine months while it took its team of 40 developers just 26 weeks to design, build, test and deliver the system.
“We're delighted that we've managed to deliver this project on-time and on-budget,” said Simon Ordish, Chief Executive Officer for LVS.
“Winning the contract has had a big impact on the business and has taken us forward to a new stage in our development. It has been a challenge to meet the requirements of such a big operator and there has been a lot of learning to do on both sides. It gives us the platform to move forward into other markets.
“We are delighted that FDJ, the second largest lottery in the world, has been willing to work with a relatively small company such as ourselves. It has been a remarkable achievement in a relatively short space of time.”
LVS stated that the strengths of its Advanced Gaming Platform include the system’s scalability, its ability to offer many different markets with the necessary risk management tools and a robust design that is capable of coping with high traffic volumes. The Advanced Gaming Platform also has inbuilt multi-lingual and multi-cultural features that mean it is capable of offering US and Asia-focused betting products.
“We selected LVS because its product offers all the functionalities we expect from a modern sportsbook and because it is based on standard and state-of-the-art web technologies compared to the other alternatives that the marketplace proposes,” said Pascal Blyau, Head Of IT Projects for FDJ.
“We also valued LVS’ flexibility and the use of agile methodology. It was a challenging project as FDJ has high security requirements based on ISO 27001 and WLA standards and high performance requirements in terms of transaction processing.
“We had to perform a complex and highly distributed integration with our retail system and our Xeres platform managing our customer wallet in real-time and aggregating all of our gaming engines. I am happy that we managed to make it in such a short period of time. Now that we have this engine working at home, we are moving forward and building new features with LVS to make our offer even more appealing for the future.”
