Numerous online bookmakers have lengthened their odds on Chelsea winning this season’s English Premier League title after the team was unable to defeat struggling Hull City away last night.
Last week, ToteSport.com was offering the London side at odds of 8/13 to win the 2009/10 title but this has now lengthened following last evening’s score draw with SportingBet.com, Ladbrokes.com and SkyBet.com showing 8/11 followed by VictorChandler.com, Bet365.com, BoyleSports.com, PaddyPower.com, WilliamHill.com and Coral.co.uk with 4/5.
Chelsea are now just two points ahead of defending champions Manchester United after the same number of games with BlueSq.com, BetFred.com, 888Sport.com and StanJames.com offering odds of 5/6 that they can hold on to take their first Premier League title since 2006. Slightly longer, WBX.com and BetDaq.com are showing 24/25 while bettors can get 97/100 from Betfair.com.
Meanwhile, Manchester United saw off fellow title hopefuls Arsenal at the weekend by a score of three goals to one and are now undefeated in six matches. Despite this, the odds on Sir Alex Ferguson capturing an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title for the Manchester-based team remain almost unchanged with Bet365.com, BetFred.com, VictorChandler.com, BlueSq.com, StanJames.com and 888Sport.com showing 11/8.
Slightly longer, BetDaq.com is offering odds of 149/100 while BoyleSports.com, SkyBet.com, SportingBet.com, PaddyPower.com, WilliamHill.com, Ladbrokes.com and Coral.co.uk show 6/4.
Should Manchester United win the Premier League this season, they would surpass Liverpool’s tally of 18 titles to become the most successful team in English soccer. However, WBX.com is only offering odds of 151/100 on this eventuality followed by Betfair.com with 38/25.
