Leading online casino affiliate site CasinoRanking.com has donated three years of commissions to a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children in the small African nation of Malawi.
CasinoRanking.com has given boNGO Worldwide, a non-profit organisation created by a small group of American and Czech aid workers, more than $30,000 to help it operate a school and nearby maize mill that provides revenues for the local community.
Innovative online slots and video poker site Slotland.com donated over $100,000 to boNGO in 2005 to help build the school, which has gone on to become a training centre for the area’s primary school teachers and serve as a model of sustainable development.
“After the initial year of funding for the Malawi project was complete, it was just clear to me that boNGO had much more work to do so I kept the funding up,” said Antoine Tardif from CasinoRanking.com.
“I find that grass-root organisations are much more effective than larger non-profits. Large organisations seem to waste a lot on non-essentials such as office space and fund raising.”
The school recently saw 42 children graduate and boNGO has continued its efforts by establishing a further 13 education and community-based childcare centers in Africa with trained teachers.
“One of the big focuses with boNGO has been on teaching sustainability, which I personally find is important,” said Tardif.
“A delicate balance between development and sustainability needs to be maintained to ensure the future of Malawi and its people.”
Tardif is challenging casino affiliate webmasters to consider contributing to this very worthy cause and stated that more information about its recent and current projects can be found at boNGOWorldwide.com.
